I offer counselling to adults from a calm and welcoming space in rural Dorset, just outside Blandford, and within easy reach of Shaftesbury.

 

I am an trauma-informed therapist who works in a humanistic & client-centred way. This means that I don't work to diagnose or label a client, but to see the client always as a whole, unique person in the context of not just the present day, but also in how events in our past might resonate day to day and what the future could bring. Whilst this forms the core of my practice, being integrative means being open to and drawing in methods and theories from different modalities and sources. Working together to find what works best for the client and help them to fulfil their aims and take control of their life.

I believe that counselling offers a space where you can safely and confidentially explore yourself and any thoughts, behaviours or feelings that may be troubling you - away from the judgments and expectations of everyday life. If you have been feeling out of place, something has happened in your life to disrupt you, you are fed up with repeating the same mistakes, or you are wrestling with bigger questions about the meaning of your life - then counselling could be for you.

I have experience and interest in working with a diverse range of clients and issues including: childhood bereavement, abuse, drug addiction, anxiety, depression, and questions of identity and purpose.

I was counsellor at a well-established service in the New Forest for three years before working with clients at a sexual trauma service since 2024 alongside my private work.

I also hold a PGCE (Secondary) and an MA in Philosophy and continue to work with A level students as a tutor and as an examiner.
